Do you trust me?

No you might say. And you know what? I don't blame you. Trust or physiological safety is not to be taken for granted. In fact, it's sometimes really hard to create.
Trust doesn't come to us on a silver platter! TRUST is on the contrary, something we have to build.
Some even say that trust is something we have to earn...
It makes me cringe when I read that last sentence...Something inside me refuses to look at trust like something we have to earn. It makes me think about about competitions and going solely for the GOLD medal, through hard work, blood, sweat and tears...
Why is it so difficult to trust other people, maybe even yourself at times? And that's where it all begins...
It begins with YOU. You have lived your life up until this day, with all your experiences, encounters with people, exploring life in many ways; good, bad, mediocre, fantastic, sad, horrible, happy, impactful, hurtful, joyful, ecstatic, fearful and moments with lots of laughter and wonder.
And it is the wonder that is the starting point of creating trust! Remember when you were younger, a child who wondered out of curiosity about the things around you and about you. Or if this wasn't you (we are all different), you definitely have seen or experienced children of curiosity and wonder.
As a side note, children asks between 400-600 questions every day. Being a mum, I remembered it felt even more at times.
In comparison an adult, a really curious one, will ask 25 questions every day.
I bet you, like me, are not surrounded by really curious people. Because we learn that we are not to be so curious about others. Then we are considered nosy. This is part of our upbringing.
Then we lose our curiosity and wonder less, due to the early conditioning of our parents, grand parents and society.
